Are classes supposed to be gender specific ?
Not sure if this is intentional or not but I've noticed this now on a few classes where if you were to read the tool tips on the class that they refer to her/she, his/him,

Like for example if I were to be playing a male rogue the tool tips will refer to me being a female
or
Playing a female Magus it refers to me being male

It's not just these 2 classes I've noticed it on others

Is it intentional or just a mistake as I find it to be annoying

That's just straight up copied from the Pathfinder rulebook, they pretty much refer to anyone as a she. Also I think it's because the hero of pathfinder is a female (?)
So it is intentional, same thing was for NwN2

Intentional. No classes are restricted to a single gender.

Specifically, the PF rulebook uses the gender of the Iconic for a class, when referring to all abilities in the rules. The iconic barbarian is a female (it's actually Amiri), so all references to barbarian abilities and features are feminine. The iconic sorceress (Seoni) is the same way, as is the iconic wizard Ezren, who being male, means wizard rules all refer in the masculine.

They don't refer to you. They refer to "the rogue" and "the magus".

The pathfinder rulebook (like the D&D 3rd edition rulebook) had 'iconic' characters for each class and wrote descriptions based on that character. The game was trying to be true to the spirit of the rulebook so kept those descriptions exact. Which also kept them from getting those descriptions wrong, which was a smart move in retrospect, given the amount of small bugs that happened.

In other words everything isn't about you. Its about the class in general, not you specifically.

Well that explains it, I thought it was a mistake as I'm someone who isn't knowledgeable in the pnp game or rulebook

Anyway thanks for pointing that out

That said, if you get referred to by the wrong gender in actual game dialogue, its a bug so report it on the bug forum here.

Hasn't happened to me, but I saw someone complaining that they were referred to as 'baroness' when they were male. Thats unrelated to the class descriptions and not intentional.
