The composer of the Pathfinder: Kingmaker soundtrack is... surprise... Inon Zur.
I knew of (and am a fan of) Ion Zur and thought surely not (thinking out of price range)...well I'm glad to hear it. I also thought I was imaging the Dragon Age connection...I even got the DA feels in some town designs. Cool and thanks.
So it looks like Inon Zur himself is going around enforcing his IP on his music. That cannot be good for the game companies he does work for.
Seems like the background music for the first loading screen is being flagged. Kind of rediculous if you ask me.
Just 30 seconds of his music on my video being flagged... and he has ownership of my 8-12 hour long stream video on youtube.... and is forcefully monetizing it.
Not sure why a dev hasn't chimed in on this issue yet... lots of people are going to be upset that Inon Zur's agency is going around claiming the rights over all his music in youtube.
It probably isn't the devs fault, that's how music companies are all over youtube.
It isn't too hard... contact Inon Zur... he was probably paid for his work on this music. Ask him very nicely to take the game soundtrack off the "hit list" of his youtube rampage, remove all claims on those bs youtube copyright claims, problem solved everyone is happy.
Then apologize to the people that were screwed over by this and tell people publicly that it is ok to produce and monetize content made with the game from here on.
Right....you said it yourself...he is claiming the rights on HIS music that you used and uploaded without permission and declaration. Lots of people will be upset...
Have you ever heard of youtube or have you been living under a rock?
Youtubers and streamers are the PR machine for game developers now.
$40 for the game.... it's not like i stole his music and posted it online to make money off it.
Until youtube fixes the issue that literally anyone can abuse the copy right strike system, then it will keep happening no matter what because they're greedy and want that money.
Game Developers usually make sure that the music they use in the game will not be flagged for copyright infringement in youtube... it affects their game's discoverability. Less people seeing your game... less people interested in your game... less people buying your game.
Have you ever been paid by YouTube? No? Thought so. Successful YouTubers don't make money of monetization anymore, because YouTube doesn't allow for it. Almost all content gets flagged, either by copyright infringements or because of words like "war, hate, killing, suicide, ..." and then monetization isn't possible anymore. YouTubers need 3rd party sponsors to make a living these days.
As for streamers, I agree, they make the game companies tons of money. That's why the game companies pay the big streamers tons of money to play their game.
I'm sorry that your video got flagged and I hate the YouTube system of flagging content. I also wish the Devs could get this sorted. But my hopes are low, that's why I was salty. Sorry.
I have no idea what kind of videos you are making that require such keywords... Google deposits money directly into my bank account every month or so... so yes I am frequently paid by youtube for the quality gaming content that I produce regularly. It's not much but it pays for games and such.
