I've streamed tons of games... I have over 1000 hours of content on youtube, and the only time I was even flagged for this was Fallout 4... which uses actual old 60s music that is still being managed by agencies.
You can turn down the music volume completely in the options so you can avoid this for now
Interesting.
While the youtube claiming system is the most abused thing since the punching bag, this situation is curious and i'd be interested in what this means.
I wonder if they are using this to silence critics of the game? I've had tons of bugs pop up on my stream... but I don't think my frustration is unreasonable.
If you're monetizing ads though you need to be careful. Also you don't want to fight them without good cause. But if you do know it's wrong then you can file for reconsideration. Google "Claimed by: AdRev for a 3rd Party" if you want to know more...I am not able to atm. Sounds suspect to me. Suspect = 3rd Party greed, not the artist and not this company.
You got copyright strikes not devs are coming after your stream for bugs strike lol
Yeah can't contest these until you reach 5000 views on each video and even after that.. the game developer has to issue a communique indicating that their game is OK to stream/make content about.
By the time it's valid to contest, I might have gotten tired and moved on.
Don't come up with insane conspiracy theories about the devs. You seriously think they tracked down your tiny channel, actually watched the videos, then decided to flag them because of criticisms of the game?
Probably bots abusing the system, like I guessed before, but I would still be interested in hearing what the resolution of the strikes are.
I posted this here in case the devs didn't know someone was making a claim on their soundtrack on youtube... because that means that their PR/marketing might start imploding from angry/upset youtubers and streamers getting their videos muted and/or their content stolen. My videos are basically forcefully monetized... but the money is going to whoever is making this copyright claims.
and if it was the devs themselves doing it .. and it was intentional... then it's time to light the molotovs? :)
Bummer. I forgot a lot of the rules have changed in the last couple of years as I recall being put into a new category -- which I didn't care at the time but it looked like more red tape was added. Good luck in any case.
