Clothing - Are all monks half naked?
I thought I'd make a monk, then realised that the default "outfit" is half naked if male, give or take a boob-tube if female. I know its only cosmetic, but appearance is a huge part of game appeal for me.

They can't wear armor without wiping out substantial abilities.

Is there an option to change clothing that I'm missing?

Or an alternate class that is worth dipping as a starter class so I can wear a shirt?

Thanks in advance for any tips.

Use the option "Wear Shirt of i-don't-remember-his-name".
Your character will stop being half naked.
(Shame cause men bodies are nicely done.)

Ok, I thought "Drobyshevksy's shirt for companions" would change all of their shirts - but since the rest are wearing armor over the hideous thing it is bearable.

Thanks.

I seem to remember seeing an option to turn off class specific clothing. I guess this would make them wear the armour they are given

Hahaha yes! Finally someone else who shared my struggles when starting out!

Don't worry, I will bestow great news! After defeating the stag lord and clearing the prelude, there are several robes in the next act from what I've been told. I've only found one.. Uh, I think it was on the Candlemere island, but.. don't hold me to that. I dunno if it was randomized loot or not. And if you go there, bring communal "energy resistance" spells 'cause the lightning elementals there hit like a truck if you don't have that. But yeah, do some research about robe specific locations, but yes, there are robes around. Don't worry. But the robe I found does nothing other than make me look different, but at least I'm not a Lord who's very rich, yet insist on displaying my man bosom his peasants like some sort of ... shirtless bum psycho... :P

Robes? Awesome. I don't remember finding robes when I cleared Candlemere on my last run through (before the endless waves of Troll raids wiped my realm). I'll be looking for them next time. Thanks.

Yep! There are robes somewhere on the candlemere map, I think it increases acid spells DC. Any chance that there are robes or something for monks in particular? I can't imagine them not being able to fill an equipment slot with anything useful. D:

You probably want to start with 2 lvl of paladin anyway for crazy saves.

Make sure your perception stat is high enough or discoverable items/hidden items, just won't be revealed. Some require very high points in perception.

Robes are rare. I think the earliest one I found was from Lonely Barrow (directly east from capital).
Klaus Oct 9, 2018 @ 1:31pm
Was it lonely?
Thariorn Oct 9, 2018 @ 2:13pm
Well, no, it actually is inhabited by a lot of moving parts and some bandits

Misleading location. Very tricksy.
Incidentally; the monk class outfit seems to be based on what the tabletop game's Iconic Monk, Sajan[pathfinderwiki.com], wears.

They seemed to do that for a lot of classes, actually. The Alchemist and Magus class outfits look like what Damiel and Seltyiel, respectively, wear in their artwork, at least.

Mind you; at least female sorceresses didn't end up dressed like Seoni[pathfinderwiki.com] - don't want to think about the kerfuffle that would've kicked off.

I had noticed that. I'd enjoy it a lot more though if the class outfits were clothing that you could buy and equip into their own slots.

Same here. Some of class specific outfits are very good looking and ideally they should be equipped on a per party member basis rather than all or nothing.
I have asked dev's about possibly releasing a small cosmetics dlc pack which would add a great deal more personalization to the game. as it stands i love the fact it's a nameless adventurer i can personify wholly and characterize with great in depth class builds. However, being stuck with little cosmetic customization bugs me.
What annoys me the most is that capes will not stay fixed on your character and will revert back to the default ranger/rogue/etc class cloak which stinks. Braces, boots and gloves replace the default character models, capes seem to disappear when passing a load screen.
