Difference between composite longbow and masterwork longbow?
I see (from tooltips) both straight 1D8 with no apparent enhancements and both worth 100G. So which one is better or are they the same?

And indeed what makes them different to a standard 1D8 longbow?

Composite bows (both short and long) apply your str mod to damage.

Composite bow adds your strength modifier to damage, while the masterwork template adds +1 to your attack (to hit)

OK so what do Masterwork and ordinary bows add to damage?

Their enhancement bonus if any. Masterwork wouldnt add any damage but as an above poster pointed out it adds to your attack roll.

someone on this forum taught me that you need to click on info on the weps to actually get the required info :)

Dex is added to the chance of hitting, masterwork and ordinary bows add nothing to damage.

Which is why composite bows are good.

It's also the Str bonus +50% because it's a 2H weapon.

Aha! Someone's just taught me that too :)

OK so since I'm dealing with an Elf wizard's bow here, the composite STR damage bonus is worth jack to me, the Masterwork +1 To Hit is a godsend, so it's a no brainer.

Someone I think mentioned somewhere that Weapon Finesse needs an additional follow on feat to get DEX damage bonus on bows. That true?

Masterwork add +1 attack.
Composite add x1.5 StrengthBonus to damage.

But what you really want is a magic composite bow.

It adds only your STR mod, 1.5x STR is only for melee 2h.
(Unless for some reason the game changed rules for this...)

Just checking, but the STR bonus is anything over 10, so if you are not @ over 10 STR, it's + 0?

PnP rules would give you -2 attack penalty, but I don't know if that's implemented.

I thought that too, until I checked the actual damage bonus it was giving.

Got a screenshot with only the bow alone equipped?

Not everything is written ingame, alas.
Normal bow won't add your STR bonus to the damage, *unless* that bonus is a malus.
This isn't the case with crossbow, which makes them attractive to low strength chars.
