pet recommendations

What is the best animal companion in yalls opinion? I am having a hard time choosing.

Leopard, dog or wolf to start (perma trip). Bear gets really nice with the right items that increase it's damage.

depends on your preferation. I love the Mammoth. But its kinda loud. i don´t know, if i am able to enjoy this constant stomping.
i have not tested them all but the once i did were beautiful made.

Smilodon for 5! attacks, and when leveled up will quickly outpace your characters in abilties, a true monster powerhouse when you start casting spells to buff it too.

Smilodon / Leopard - leopard get size incease at level 4, Smilodon at level 7 - migt be better to hold out for level 7.

Others might be better but alot of the sound animation is bugged atm - so don't do hurting yourself over a pet :)

Actually a smilodon would wreck more "Évry attack has the mods applied" smilodon has 5 attacks each round.

Leopard is a tank god has trip and decent damage.
Bear didn't impress me honestly.

Shield of faith
Barkskin

Magical fangs +hit/dmg
Acid maw (that adds 1d4 acid to each attack)

Dex/str/end buff

Haste this kind

I am running 5 pets.
Druid with Boar
Sorcerer with Sabertooth
Ranger with Wolf (has the pet feat to give it full level)
Barb with Mamoth
Inq with Leopard

So far on super hard fights the boar is always the last standing. It AC seems to be the best.
The Sabertooth does some crazy damage.

I wonder how good the poison pets are, the lizard or the centipede at high levels

Smilodon gets 5 attacks and pounce. It's kinda a no-brainer if you are just strictly looking for power. It can invalidate most of the game by itself.

What I really wished the Centipede would become is that huge one from the cavern that can use an Aoe spell that squirts everything around it would be nice lol
