Early game Fog (Milky-white Blanket) glitch

I entered a foggy area near the stag lords fort that I guess I wasn't suppose to. My charcter kept moving even though a "Random Encounter" showed up, which allowed me to pass through the barrier. I'm not suck on the other side and I can't get back to the main area...

I don't think I'm suppose to be able to get to where my charcter is at this stage in the game.

Resolved. There's a glitch - you can hit space a ton and sometimes when the random encounter animation shows up you can space a bunch and continue walking - allowing your character to walk beyond the fog.
