More Robes please!
My main is a sorcerer and she is now level 5 and I have yet to see a single robe anywhere. Until I started reading around I was convinced they weren't even in the game. Please put in more and make it possible to buy them from vendors.

There are lots of them. You'll begin finding a lot after level 8 or so and can also get a tailor to make some.

Level 8 is pretty late to get simple robes. There should be something earlier.

It's stupid. I didn't see any robes until like level 9-10. I think I've seen like 3 robes so far total. Also, the artisans you can hire tend to be very buggy. I think I recruited a tailor at some point but I've still yet to see her bring me anything. Her quest line breaks. I'm not sure if that's reponsible for her not showing up with any gifts.

I have already played the game multiple hours and all this time my main has had nothing in her armor slot. That just feels terrible.

It's pretty dumb design. They should've made some low level robes.

I actually ended up wasting feats on two of my casters because of the lack of robes (arcane armor training and light armor prof). And of course there's no respec >:(

I ran into one robe my first run. (This was before I restarted cause double-Amiri bug.) It was a Robe of Earth I believe with Acid Aura. Decent on my Sword-saint magus who I spammed Acid splash on against Trolls. But well. . . That was about it. Lol

What? You have to restart the campaign if you see the double Amiri bug? I thought they'd just patch it.

Most robes in D&D and Pathfinder are fairly magical, otherwise they are simply cloth. No point spending money on them as a low level caster, better thing to put money into, like your spell book. There are some low level robes, they are really a waste of gold. Many go bracers of armor or simply mage armor until 10ish.

By mid act 3, I had enough robes for Tristian and Octavia and had some to sell. Mostly bonus to save against some element, nothing to write home about but better than nothing.

I did it on principle alone. If a patch comes in and breaks my save one way, I don't want to risk that it may have caused another issue along the line. Code lines are truly dastardly that way, you mess with one thing and somewhere WAAAAY down the line it triggers another unfortunate 'kaboom', so to speak.

Understood. Yeah, maybe I should restart. Hopefully they'll patch that and other bugs without causing more. I know what you mean though, bug smashing isn't easy! :)

99 bugs in the code, 99 bugs in the code, take it down patch it around, 103 bugs in the code...

This. There are no robes in Pathfinder that just give a basic armour bonus (like you'd see in, say, Dragon Age Origins). The various kinds of robes are full-on wonderous items in the same way as Boots of Elvenkind, Headbands of Vast Intellect, Bracers of Archery, Cloaks of Resistance, Rings of Protection, etc.

In essence; there is absolutely no basic armour-boosting robes for spellcasters in Pathfinder at all.

EDIT: As an example; the Robe of Needles[www.d20pfsrd.com] is one of the cheapest and most available robes in the game and it does nothing for your defences.

There are robes with an armor bonus: the robes of the archmagi.

Ah yeah. Guess I should've specified that there's none until you get into the mid-high levels.
