those spells are nothing but a pain in the ass but add ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ gameplay depth
Thanks for your constructive criticism.
You could argue the Contingency Spells and Sequencers could be hard to balance but the Spell Shields and Spell breaking spells would certainly add a lot of depth. Right now (I think) to take down enemy spell defences (Stoneskin etc), we only have 2 choices;
1. Hit them with damage
2. Try a Dispel
My suggestions add a 3rd choice.
Maybe your play through(s) of BG were different than mine but for me, they added a load more depth to the spell duels.
But now that I've read through that Reddit spell list, I'm more concerned with the lack of iconic spells such as Meteor Swarm (or any level 9 Evocation spells!), Prismatic Shield, Disjunction and the Bigby Hand spells to name a few.
For example all Bigby's :)
Ahh, thanks for the info. I don't know much about Pathfinder. I'd be surprised if Pathfinder doesn't have at least the 'absorb X levels of spells' one though. I can't remember the spell names though to research it online.
While it have - they still don't help you against meteor shower and other AoE spells :)
You mostly fight monsters though, they don't cast that much.
But having mage duels would be great.
