What exactly is the benefit of the city builder part?
Can someone tell me what effect a good running kingdom has on my hero adventures?
This is not a complain or so because I somehow like the kingdom ruler aspect, but so far I cant see a benefit for my group of heros when the kingdom is running well.

I was expecting some gold income, some new shops where I could buy special stuff, new blacksmiths where I can buy new armors or a mage guild to learn new spells. I also expected new quests to level my group by ruling the my kingdom.

So far its just a new level of difficulty/complexity but I must admit that I am just level 8 and maybe this changes later.... (hopefully)

Thats actually a good question, so far the only benefit i saw from good kingdom stats is getting even better kingdom stats (more BP income, better ratings for higher chance of success etc). But there doesn't seem to be much in terms of direct benefits for the party:

There was a research option to add poison immunity in owned lands, another research option for +1 to hit / +1 to damage in owned lands. Don't think the artists get better if the kingdom is better, but maybe more get attracted?

As far as I know, the only buildings that matter for adventuring are the artisan buildings. The buildings for different groups might have diplomatic changes, but I'm not far enough to tell.

True i was disapointed in the fact that herbalist, shops and troll/goblin and so onwards had no effect on what i saw... i expected to at least see some wandering trolls or goblins with such or a herb garden that once every month has a couple herbs i can pick/gain...

From what I can tell you do get some massive benefits from the Kingdom builder, but thats assuming there are no bugs or glitches.

For starters every region has an artisan and they make some amazing items that are unique and just super good, but they are mostly bugged. Like I am at 94 hours and people kept mentioning this Dwarf Dargn guy and I literally never saw him and I have been to all the towns and tried getting all the artisans.

Bokken - mega bugged, plus his items are also bugged (would be amazing if not).
Dwarf Guy - literally never saw him in my game, I assume hes bugged.
Crazy Story Lady - She made me a bunch of Kamas and that is all
Elven weaponsmith - her quest is bugged
Jeweler - Once again bugged
Elf archer guy - apparently not bugged.
Wizard Gnome smuggler in capital - maybe? not clear as the models mess up a lot.

I don't think there is an artisan in Vardenhold or Barbarian Area, but for all I know they could be bugged like the Dwarf. Can you even build stuff in Vardenhold, cause I still can't.

In addition to artisans you can get some buffs that apply to your Kingdom.

Poison Immunity sounds amazing, but then you realize we have delay poison
+1 to attack and damage rolls is neat, but kingdom only and quite late
-40% random encounters is great, though I have like +50 stealth on my rogue so that sort of defeats the purpose.

I assume there is more, but haven't noticed anything else

Overall with the current sweet of bugs its basically pointless to Kingdom build IMO.

I had bumped into a half-orc artisan blacksmith who was depressed because he had to sell his tools, the merchant nearby convinently had said tools so i bought them and gave them to him, I never found out what he makes though since that was my first kindom and it failed

the cynic in me wants to say the main benefit of running a successful kingdom is preventing you from losing the game ;D
