If you turned NG, it seems like you were picking too many neutral and chaotic options, instead of any lawful options when they showed up.
Also, keep an eye on your alignment page on your character window. You can choose different aligned choices several times before it actually switches. I had a evil choice and several neutral choices as a Paladin and I didnt switch out from LG.
However, LG statements seem to be few and far between.
I'm just trying to do the good options, because I'm almost positive that they affect certain outcomes. I always usually pick lawful neutral when given the choice, but this is too punishing for simply picking from my limited choices.
I cannot cast any spells now, I'm just a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ fighter.
A paladin picking lawful evil options? There aren't any blackguard options on the character creation, so why would I pick any evil options outside of no other alternative?
I follow the law whenever given a choice, just so happens that around the point in the game that I'm at Lawful options have been at an alltime low outside of evil options.
Also, perhaps picking unaligned options occasionally puts you in a situation where the LG option actually occurs?
I pick the options that I do for specific desired outcomes, not due to min-maxing my alignment. I'm trying to roleplay here.
A paladin could well be Lawful Good and believe that a good rule is based on fear of a ruler. Your problem is of course that there is no way to use the atonement spell in game, since I highly doubt they implemented that.
So go forth seeker, and find redemption in the eyes of your goddess. Nobody doubts the goodness of your heart, but too often you let your personal feelings dictate your actions, instead of following the path of justice and law. Conquer that inner chaos, and all shall be forgiven.
