Depends on the book. Keep them in your chest...also theres a lot which has no wietght at all, so dont bother.

You can sell them except for the alchemy book series (I-III). However, i would sell them to a merchant in your capital, so if you need them back you can just get them without much loss of gp...

So alchemy book series is the only ones that you actually need? Have you finished the game? I thought that maybe for a quest you need at least another one, maybe just to "read" again when you got the quest, cos you needed some intel from the book or so.
At least thats my impression of the game somehow (that it can happen). Cos with letters its actually the thing.

"of transmutation & bodily poisons" is the lachemy book btw

Checked the dox document on the offical forum where some ppl have made lists of all sets of items to give in to diffrent things and nothing else is listed there.

But yea selling to one of the two standard vendors in capital or olag (not as sure) is 99% a safe bet becuse you can buy back evrything. I have hard time beliving that the game in act 4 woud fk u over and wipe vendors & ask you to give those 4 books you coud only get in act 1, at that point..what´s the point?
