Archer Paladin or Cleric?
Hey all,

having severe choice paralysis for starting this game. Think I have finally nailed it down to archer cleric crusader (with buffs/animal companion/heals) and basic paladin with composite bow feats for smite/heals etc.

Would really appreciate some feedback on which you think may be better in the long run and what basic stats I'll need?

Thanks!

Thinking of heading towards crusader, mainly so I can be a bit evil

Well it's not really about optimization but you might want to consider that you get 2 Cleric companions and 0 paladin companions.

If you want an evil or neutral Crusader, suggest getting the Death Domain, and negative energy channel, plus the Selective Channel feat. Make sure you have enough Wisdom for channels.

In theory at L8 that would get you a negative energy channel that damages all enemies that aren't undead, doesn't damage your party... and heals you.

Not tested though.

I am running the Archer Class Paladin. Once he received heavy armor feat i conentrated on all ranged skills. I love him because he stays in the back, hits hard, and if one of my guys in the front drops health, he can lay on hands easily. Also if the wizard and rouge get ambushed from behind, having a plate guy in the rear allows me to defend untill the front line supports.
