Do Bracers of Archer even do anything in this game????

According to characters' stat pages and attack rolls they aren't doing ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Is this just me or the same for everyone?

The bracers seem to work fine for me, I've used both the regular and lesser versions on a couple of companions who would otherwise only be able to use crossbows, so they could instead wield good bows I found. You might not see a difference on the numbers if you've already got competence bonuses to your attack and damage rolls from some other source.

This and and its also possible the equipments are bugged from using the stash. It seems that sometimes you need to reload after picking equips from the stash or the equipment effects might not work when equipped.

Does an enhancement bonus on a weapon (i.e. sword +1) count as a competence bonus? Otherwise I'm not seeing where else my characters would be getting a "competence bonus" from. I hate all these stacking rules -_-

Bracers work. You probably just receive the same type of bonus from somewhere else. Inspire Courage i.e.

No. +1 competence is usually from a class boost. I think Bard songs would be the first guess.

Even with the limits on stacking, people are able to get over 100 AC on a Ranger in Dungeons and Dragon Online. Gotta stack them all!

Oh that sucks. Crossbow literally has the word bow in it though -_-

So apparently for the character that has a bow, the number does go up but it's not listed on the character sheet or attack rolls...

Eeeexcept that DDO only barely uses a system vaguely based on DnD 3.5. Math's completely different between that and the Pathfinder ruleset.

Doesn't the item description specifically say that it doesn't work with crossbows? Because the tabletop version does, right there in the second sentence: https://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic-items/wondrous-items/wondrous-items/a-b/bracers-of-archery/

Nope, doesn't make that distinction in the game's text for the bracers >:(
