The Troll King: Spoilers more stat bloat...
So i'm a little confused how the devs expect us to manage this guy on normal, i get that's a boss however i have one massive issue with him.

He has a +21 to hit... effectively meaning he can hit valarie who has a 30 AC with a 9... worse he can 2-3 shot valarie my most tanky character. AND you have to kill him TWICE in a row... he's also immune to mind afflictions (he doesn't even roll a save he just ignores it) ignores web (probably do to strength) SO i'm a bit confused what they expect players to actually do vs this guy. You have him a to hit so high that even the tankiest character can't tank him, he does 30-40 damage a swing and is immune to fear (at the very least) has 235 hp...

NOW i'm pretty damn good at these games but i have no ♥♥♥♥ing clue how someone is suppose to eat through that much hp and not get 2-3 shot...

do we seriously have to cut damage by 50% just to progress in this game? you seriously need to dial these guys damage and health back by a ton... i know you want him to be hard, and i'm ok with that BUT you've basically given him the ability to hit your main tank about 80% of the time and does enough damage that he takes 1/3 of her hp on a single swing...

I really wanna like this game but every time i turn around more enemies are clearly over tuned to the point of being nigh impossible...

But i'd love any tricks others pulled off to actually survive this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥...

Edit

Valarie: Fighter 6
Regnor: Magus 6
Harim: Cleric 6
Octavia: Rogue 1/Wizard 3/Trickster 2
Jaethal: Inquistor 6
Main Character: Sorcerer 4/Cleric 2 (shooting for MT) focused mostly in support ( CC and debuffs)

Just for additional info Valarie has a 32 AC fully buffed, and 88 hp and harim isn't far behind her in tankiness with a 29 AC and 63 hp, i pretty much mand handled the entire fortress without issues... but the king just tears through my group without even pausing. mostly do to his inflated to hit rating, he basically has a 70% chance to hit every swing and attacks 3 or so times a round, i beat him once but then he lawl regenerates all 235 hp and you have to kill him yet again... it's infuriating.

It would be most helpful if you provided information about your party composition and level at the very least.

I survived with no issue I took down tartuk before he can haste (major advantage if you can do this) then use spells that has will check against troll boss (he very very very weak to will skill) profit as he gonna go down without touching you.

I struggled the first go and then I put every buff I could on the party and Valerie in particular and it was a breeze.

I just casted slow on him and my party decimated him on challenging, lol

I've only played Normal and I beat him.
I mean it did take like, a dozen tries, but I just had to keep trying different strategies until I found one that worked.

But it would certainly help if we knew your party. I did it personally with Valerie, Amiri, Linzi, Jubi, and Harrim. And my protag is Eldritch Scion.

I wouldn't normally use Jubi or Harrim, but since they had character quests there, I brought them along...

Don't have to kill him twice if you kill him before the purple toad.

Well if you listen to the "experts" around here, you just need to "get gud". That will solve everything :-)

Overpowered enemies typically require buffing your party or nerfing the enemy.

I brought Ekundayo because his Dog has more AC than Valerie with a few buffs. Plus there's that sweet Devourer of Metal longbow found in the fort that shreds trolls like no tomorrow practically begging you to take him with you.

Jubi's quest finishes once you enter the location, you can swap him out afterwards.

I only had to kill him once?

How did you manage to prevent him from casting the haste spell?

Him and Amiri with Trollreaper made that place so much fun.

The usual way. Hit him in the face, and kill him before he can do much. He is fairly squishy, and that was the only way I could win that fight was to kill him before he could provide much support. The Troll King is still really tough, but without getting buffed or having a spellcaster dealing out extra damage, he's much more managable.

I went around next to throne for better position so I can kill tartuk then I casted every thing I got to tartuk and he went down before he is able to cast as he does not have the most health so he can be taken down if you focus fire
IF you are evil you can make him kill tartuk... >> and chase the kobolds off so UHH not an issue its 1 vs 1 for me...

he still decimates me pretty quickly. And i am fully buffed... i wouldnt go in otherwise lol, i can kill him if my fighter stays alive longer then 3 seconds... which doesnt happen very often...

Edit: when you beat him down and talk to him least as an evil character he basically stands back up and fully heals.
