just fire it up, search for gold value then go to trader sell/buy something to change the value -> click next in the search -> reapeat until only one value remains in the list -> change value -> voila!
I'm sure all of this stuff will appear on the public forums pretty much right upon release and we're cool with it. It's a singleplayer game, so if you wanna cheat, go right ahead. We're not telling people how they should enjoy their singleplayer experience.
While I have never bothered to in these games, the fact that you guys are all about letting people have fun their way after they purchase your product is great in todays world.
others might disagree but singleplayer..
A command console has been a staple in just about every single D&Dish game that I can recall, so I do hope it is something that will eventually be added. I was really quite surprised that there wasn't a console when I checked for it. I just assumed the game would have it. I honestly don't know if I still would have bought the game, if I had known before hand that there wasn't a command console in game. Not that I regret getting the game, after the fact, now that I already have it. However, prior knowledge of a missing console, probably would have altered my purchasing decision.
There are many reasons a console is indispensable. One big one, is that it allows correcting mistakes made on your character, or making other alterations. There isn't any other way to do that in game. I'd rather not have to break out a hex editor to do that either, though I will consider that, if there comes a point that I really needed to. In extreme cases, a console can also be used to work around bugs as well, and has been an absolute game saver, in other similar type games.
I don't know, perhaps it's not practical to implement an in game console at this late point, from a development standpoint. But many users don't even know what a hex editor is lol, let alone how to use one. So it would really be nice if there was just a command console available in game, like there is in virtually every other game of this type. I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for any third party tools by the community either. Even if something does eventually show up, I doubt it will show up on Linux, but even if it did, they are usually rather limited in scope and it still wouldn't really be a substitute for the versatility or control of a proper in-game command console.
Rill-And-Spill is totally borked, even with Dimension Door, if it works. I ended up on a platform I shouldn't probably be in, went inside a portal and slew a Shallow Lady or whatever, when I left I couldn't get down from the hill I was on, had to reload. Also, the artisans are totally borked, considering there's an achievement to acquire an item from all 10 of them, the console would be nice to fix that.
Also for later runs, it's always nice to crack open the best gear in the game and attempt a solo playthrough or something to see how far you get, sure you can use third party stuff but that's risky and non-official. Bweh.
will there be a cheat code to turn off Troll raids destroying your barony without actually providing a realistic chance to quell it? Kill the Troll king done that, Barony dies. Interesting side note THERE IS NO TIMER ON THIS QUEST.
