[Build request] UNFAIR DIFF. Pro S+ Sacred Huntmaster
Yo, I need your theocrafting skills again

I want to make a viable SF for Unfair

According to this post . . .

Sacred Huntsmaster of Shelyn, Luck Domain, Glaive, Outflank, Sieze the Moment, Trip feats / animal companion with Trip.

. . . that might work, so I try a bit, Human => SF => 18/13/12/13/15/10 => Combat Expertise/Trip => Sheyln/Luck Domain/Leopard => True Strike/Sheild of Faith

It's all good but when I try to trip an ennemy, I cannot use the reach weapon (Glaive), i'm stcuk to standard melee range . . .

So, what's better ? Reach weapon with power attack + cleave while i'm standing behind my pet, or Trip with stand weapon ? Is Trip scale well ? Should I stick to both reach wep and Trip and wait until a companion can Enlarge me ?

Guide me ! Thanks.

If you want a smooth playthrough with few deaths and reloads you will have to min max a lot. First if you want to stay in melee from the start 1 vivi/1 trad monk. The stats are 20 dex, 19 wis, rest con, garuda aasimar. For feats go full defensive in order to keep the reloads to a minimum - crane line and saves feats. Weapon finesse with agile fists amulet. When you find the good sais change to that.

For the rest of your build you can do whatever you want because your character can now survive anything unfair throws at you. It's important to make sure you have all buffs in your party. That way your character will not need any gear till you meet golems/wild hunt.

I never dip monk or vivi and my teams fly through unfair now. It's not remotely needed. It might help early on but I dont think it will matter later on. I wasn't impressed with the vivi dips in my game.

Reach weapons are always great. They are a very resource friendly way to stay out of harm's way. I haven't used trip often so I cant say, but I always use reach +enlarge wherever I can

Vivi 1 is bad. Vivi 4 min or don’t bother.

You know that this is a specific build meant to stay in melee from lvl 2 without dying. After a certain level it starts to solo the content fully buffed so late game is irrelevant.

There are other playstyles with more pets, summons, cc as buffer and melee on 2nd line if OP prefers that. The melee will still die if targeted if it doesn't have enough ac so I would not recommend going with a squishy build at any point of the game.

So, reach wep without trip works in unfair ? Go it. Monk and vivi dip not needed ? Perfect. I hated in NWN2 where pure classes were always extremely inferior to multi-classes anti roleplay bullcràp

What abour feats then ?

If you're going for the Unfair achievement without a pet Vivi will means less reloads because you get free AC and stats up front.

No doubt, but SF means I'm willing to have a pet ;-)

Scaled Fist?

Sacred Huntmaster is the one with the pet.

Ah ♥♥♥♥, I meant ofc SH, I don't know why I though "SF"

Maybe Sacred Fist from NWN 2. At least you got (almost) full spell progression :p

I haven't done any inquisitors in particular, but since you will be missing some BAB I would spec in the weapon you are planning on using. A lot of people hate doing it, but I dont really have much issue with finding weapons, but rather get upset with not using the better weapons that I find. You can still use them though.

Also make sure you always take outflank on any mele class. Power attack also opens up things like cleave and such. I like cleave as well, but its a large investment. If you want to go down that path it's like 3 feats before it gets really good. It adds to micro management heavy because you will want to use it as a modal when enough enemies are near. But with reach and size bonus to range, it could be great.

Also you will benefit a lot more from combat reflexes.

Inquisitors get some decent spells eventually, and Castigate at lvl 4 works on things like Bear Treant. You can still do Reach/Enlarge over the pet.

I like Nobility Domain for early skill check help and Inspiring Command at lvl 8 for stacking AC/to hit bonus to team. WIS + 3 uses per rest.

Yeah nobility domain sounds sure good, but if I want a reach weapon for the get go, I have no choice but Shelyn . . . so I think it will be luck domain . . .

Long spear is a simple weapon type. Inquisitor should be able to use them.

Mmmh . . . but do they scale well ? I red you can find a holy + 5 glaive quite easely, can I ultimatly find long spear as good ?
