But I think that class does provide the ability to maximize healing potions and the like, and even make them more powerful. Can't recall the specifics.
Otherwise, a couple levels in a healer class really is only good for basic healing. It's just going to reduce your cost in GP by a small amount overall. You're right about that.
If you play a pet class let your pet tank. (Druid or Sylvan Sorcerer).
Scrolls can be used with Use Magic Device (UMD) skill and have half the cost. However keep Potions of Cure Blindness...can’t read a scroll if blind.
If you are a caster summon pets.
Pathfinder is not designed for solo play. However certain highly optimized builds can let you succeed.
Also with PFK a good deal of content and fluff is with the companions. So unless you have already done the playthroughs you will miss out.
You can also change the game settings. Like have all afflictions cure on rest.
No, but scrolls aren't bad. Cure moderate is cheaper anyway.
