Question about solo player healing
I was trying to do a solo run and I am into Act 2. I have been relying on pots for healing but have begun to realise that this might not be viable in the long run. I thought, maybe stupidly, that the pots would give a little more healing as I levelled up, but I presume that the description of 1*D8 + 1 per level means level in cleric. I am fast running out of potions to be able to buy from vendors.
Dipping a level into cleric, paladin, bard or alchemist would only give a tiny amount of healing spells.

Any advice?

If youre taking damage (to the point where you run out of pots) youre doing it wrong.

@topic - healing scrolls with the required skill to use them

Pots use the spell description I think. The actual item is unaffected unless you play a class that has some special ability to maximize it, which I think only the Chirugeon has. I was going to try playing one, (or building off it), until I looked at the final functionality of the class and decided it was too weird, and not at all what I was expecting.

But I think that class does provide the ability to maximize healing potions and the like, and even make them more powerful. Can't recall the specifics.

Otherwise, a couple levels in a healer class really is only good for basic healing. It's just going to reduce your cost in GP by a small amount overall. You're right about that.

I'd advise not being hit. Unironically.

Sadly this is not diablo where pots are cheap. That said, depending on your class/build you have options.

If you play a pet class let your pet tank. (Druid or Sylvan Sorcerer).
Scrolls can be used with Use Magic Device (UMD) skill and have half the cost. However keep Potions of Cure Blindness...can’t read a scroll if blind.
If you are a caster summon pets.

Pathfinder is not designed for solo play. However certain highly optimized builds can let you succeed.

Also with PFK a good deal of content and fluff is with the companions. So unless you have already done the playthroughs you will miss out.

You can also change the game settings. Like have all afflictions cure on rest.

No, but scrolls aren't bad. Cure moderate is cheaper anyway.
