How often do you rest?
In PnP Pathfinder Kingmaker, the assumption is the party explores 3 weeks a month and then spends a week managing the kingdom. Also most encounters are on the 1/day metric (barring dungeon crawls)...as a result you can go nova without much penalty as the expected 3-4 encounters in a day does not occur.

I was wondering in the PC game, how often do you folks ‘rest’ I personally tend to push, especially since I have a kineticist...but fatigue/exhaustion eventually catches up (or a bad rng fight depletes hit points/healing)...so I may go several fights...mainly because of all the hidden quest timers making me paranoid I will miss a major one and game over.

I always try to push myself as much as possible without resting up to healing with pots and scrolls because it's fun.

Depends how much the game incentivizes going without rest. In PK I generally rest once per location, barring the endgame stretch.

I tend to rest before an encounter (if I know there is one) and rest after an encounter, so I guess that would be a lot

When the first person gets exhausted, and occasionally when I've burned through all of my healing resources. Sometimes if you're close to your destination, you can just travel with everyone exhausted for the last few hours, then rest when you get there.

For some reference points;
The whole Sycamore area and dungeon - 1 sleep during that
Troll lair - 1 sleep
That castle later in the game Pitax - 1 sleep just before heading down the main hallway

That maybe translates to ~10-12 groups when you're low level, and then maybe ~15 at mid to high level.

Once before entering the dungeon, once before the bossfight, that's it.

I rest every 2 or 3 encounters (hard difficulty), because there is no penalty for resting often.

That's my rythm too, except for the HATEOT where i need to rest 2 or 3 times.

Enter area, full buff up, kill till you exhaust all of your haste buffs. Rest and clear the remaining stuff. That's on unfair and works like a charm as soon as you get access to haste and displacement. It's a clear first loot after approach to maximize the efficiency of buff time.

Before that depends on encounters and map size but for large areas 2-3 rests at most are sufficient as long as you save your true strikes for the difficult fights.

I buff at the start of the map and push on until either fatigued or my caster's run out of resources.

I try to expend minimal resources unless it is a difficult encounter. That means Linzi and my cleric spend a lot of time using bows and Octavia spends most of her time with Acid Splash.
