I use beneath the stolen dlc or a near end campaign for testing with mercenary(-4 stat points) and a notepad for a general idea of the build(s).
It will certainly be a great + if they add a character planner in the sequel.

But it has feats and classes that don't exist in the game, so it may not be exactly what you need
@Pie Gie that would make the game unenjoyable if i become lvl 20 right off the bat. Only other option I see that can make it interesting but will make my character at least OP, is the multi class thing at each level. However id only do it for my character.
There's a pinned thread about mods. I'd recommend bag of tricks and respec mod to test out all the builds
