Don't understand how the belt works
Don't understand how the belt works
The game allows you to have 5 items in your belt per PC and you cannot stack items, but there is no way to refill or replenish a slot without manually opening the inventor and dragging it in the belt, which seems a poor design.

I understand the fact that you are only supposed to use the items you have in the belt during combat, but that's not even true! You can swap items in the belt and even armor and weapons while in combat, which defeats the whole purpose of having a quick belt, except for the shortcut reason, which you have to manually reassign every time you consume an item.

It's really poor design, I'm sure there are more elegant ways to handle this, maybe using the sidebars on the left? I find it really appalling every time I drink a potion to have to go in the inventory to re-assign it to the belt and swapping armor and items between PCs should NOT be allowed in combat. Tell me there is a solution or a fix planned for this?

You can't swap armor or weapons during combat? You can only change weapons that are already equipped on your loadout, armor definitely not.
As for the belt, sure they could make it a little better. I usually only use wands or other items that can be used multiple times

Yeah it's counter intuitive. It should be like in BG where you couldn't swap stuff during combat I think.

No beta testing, as usual. Unless you honestly believe someone who tested this game prior to release siad: Yea, this is fun, glorious design :).

But then they couldn't eben program stacking items in, so yea, incompetent devs.

well THIS is by design, you cant store 20 bottles of healing in a belt, but yeah the devs are the ones incompetent

then playing with rod of flaming vengeance would be a constant pain in the rear.

You could swap in belts in BG...
Shadenuat Jun 23, 2019 @ 11:36am
In vanilla BG1 (or IWD maybe) game did not pause in inventory.
darion-neclador Jun 23, 2019 @ 11:51am
You could still swap. And more importantly stack 5.

why can you then use things in the fight from the inventory? I can take 100 potions if I want, but in the belt only 5, people what is that for a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥? How long is the game on the market? How often was the mistake or the incompetence told the developers and nothing happens, if not such a big fan community and great moder had disappeared the game in nirvana long, 5 healing potions and the only one healing spell what you have and the normal difficulty sometimes impossible in certain fight. the balance is not overhasty.

By the p&p rules: using item in belt is a standard action, using one from the backpack is a fullround action. Did anyone check the time?

Noo that will make it even more painful to use and all the useless scrolls will be even less useful then. Why would a wizard be limited to just 5 scrolls anyway.
