No hidden solution that I ever found (unless your not using death ward). It's just the hardest fight in the game

That’s the only time I’ve fought them. Blessing is more valuable.
Game has too many anti-Fear/anti-Evil/Outsider measures. Use them.
Well done. Undead (including Jaethal) are good against Demons/Undead. Create Undead is a nice spell for that one.
It’s not the hardest fight in the game lol. It does use a bunch of spells that otherwise rot in your spellbook and/or Paladin abilities that are underutilized elsewhere.
Demons are vulnerable to a lot of things Undead aren’t, and Death Ward stops a lot that makes them scary.
I have no doubt at all that you are correct. I did have two other reasons for walking away: a) I didn't want to use up a rest as at that stage 'cos I did not know how long the dungeon would continue for or what I might meet (and these demons sure didn't inspire confidence in that respect) and b) I was getting to the stage were I really wanted this dungeon to be good and over already by then, find out what was happening in the kingdom etc, that was my priority.
But, yeah, next time I tackle this dungeon I shall remember your words.
I’d rather you remember these:
The EXP and loot are piddly.
Passive bonuses are irreplaceable.
Pick your battles.
Well, I won't be remembering those 'cos they could mean anything.
They mean you get more from not fighting the Demons than from fighting them. You have to use the previous altars to do so (get the passive bonus).
