I mention this because you can drop your mostly useless spell like ability for a MUCH more useful +2 stat of your choice. Yes, including charisma or dex and it stacks.
Hell, if you want to really get cheesy you could go tiefling div/rahkshasa (depending on if you'd rather take a hit to int or wis), and do the same thing since tieflings have access to it as well. In addition they have the ability to drop their 5 resitance to all elements and replace it with 5 resistance to one element and a racial +1 natural armor.
I forgot pathfinder .5s get cha, so the stats to ac are equally good. but .5s lose str, so they come out a couple of points lower on stats overall. minor.
wings... give +3 dodge ac. Its a wash, but again, wings come late.
got anything that tilts the scales any more than this?
angels have the elemental resists. Most of the spells are lame. your choices that keep the AC option open are glitterdust, invisibility, or searing light. Glitterdust can be rough (aoe blind) but its easy to save against.
Gonna take some serious work to get a small monk to do any kind of damage though. Not sure the better AC is worth the tradeoff with Aasimar. Will be slower than the Aasimar too.
My monk isn't expected to any damage actually, just tank. Will Sensei get me same or better AC than regular monk class?
For a pure monk tank it's probably not great. You get to add your wis bonus to monk attacks but you give up flurry and fast movement. Oh and you'd get a bard song. The move speed is a real issue for the halflings though. Same AC as the other wis based monk archetypes.
Thanks. Actually I already had a halfling monk tank on my last playthrough, he was reaaaally tanky against those hunters. Thought I might have a reason to switch it up but.. I guess not.
