How to remove Baleful Polymorph?
So, Nok-Nok got Baleful Polymorphed.. how can I remove it? I tried Remove Curse and Break Enchantment but my caster check (d20 + 16) cannot overcome the DC of the curse (39).

Do the math -- that +2 food bonus to caster check doesn't help AT ALL here.

A divination wizard merc with their aura could help out if combined with the food. Still would need to roll a 19 or 20 though.

DC 39? What monster did that?

focus abjuration + spell specialization remove curse

will also help.. a really expensive remove curse...

That Baleful Polymorph was cast by a Skillfully Crafted Gold Golem.

Also, i think a Paladin with remove curse mercy can remove it with no dc check.

Sigh.. it seems this game repeatedly forces the player into reload sprees to fish for that 5% success chance (here, a natural 20). So I'll just keep reloading and Removing Curse until it works. It's just as fast as travelling half the world back to capital, buying a mercenary, building the mercenary, and then reloading until a 10% chance (19-20 as opposed to nat. 20) is successful. :( Thanks anyway.

Natural 20 only auto succeeds for attacks and saves.

Ohh. :( I guess the mercy paladin suggested by Mork is the only way then.

A very weird thing I noticed:

If I try to remove the polymorph by casting Break Enchantment I have to overcome a DC 39, which is impossible for my Harrim. But, if I use Potion of Remove Curse, the DC is only 22. Since the level of the potion is 5 I only need to roll 17 or higher (17+5=22) to succeed.

Respecting Ekun with the NPC as a Paladin is probably the cheapest way.. Save first just in case

I think I used Pally merc (via remove curse) to deal with it. It has only happened on 1 play through so far.

Pally had to cast 3 times, IIRC. I think the Bard skill-check buffs may help with overcoming the DC.

I did not remember it being that big of a deal, other than having to spend a night memorizing 'remove curse' spells.

yes. I've noticed what Uzkin did, to solve this problem.

I had tristian baneful polymorphed by a prismatic spray, from the gold golem in Pitax.

Break enchantment was coming in at DC 39.
Remove curse potion, was DC 22-29? or so, with +5, making IT really hard to hit.

After being worried for a while, I brought harrim in, with Dispel curse, and THAT was DC 22. was able to clear it easy.

Of note, being baleful polymorphed, removes ALL memorized spells from their slots. you need to manually reset them, not simply sleep.

The game doesnt tell you.
Break Enchantment is, caster level(max 15)+d20, against DC of 11+caster level of effect.
While, Remove curse is caster level+d20, against DC of caster level of effect.

Makes sense since Break is AoE with multiple effects while Remove is single target on one thing. Also comes up on dog in DLC.
