They also have to consider the popularity of the content. Some people like guns in their pseudo-medieval fantasy games but others absolutely hate them. PoE2 did significantly worse than PoE1 in part because it pushed further into the pistols, muskets and cannon setting and away from sword and sorcery. Broadly speaking it's a significant financial risk that they probably don't need.
If they are that OP the DLC would sell very well.
Oh just looked it up btw .. Deadeye is the ability to shoot vs. touch AC and its limited per day by Grit points:

It's not Deadeye, it's a trait of ALL firearms (Range and Penetration):

Ohh thanks. Did not know.
Last time I checked firearms aren't OP in pathfinder because of slow fire rate. Also remember that they could just lower gun's range to represent lower effective range compared to a bow. And I assume they would do that considering in pathfinder alchemist can throw bombs further away than possible in kingmaker.
In the game xbox/heavy xbow can attack as fast as bow, so perhaps there is some engine limitations. And since firearms are rares that would mean it's more difficult to upgrade to better weapons.
I don't mind getting more classes (or archetypes), but I would love they extend the options of existing classes/archetypes. Eldritch arcana/call of the wild add more feats that could make it into the game. More spells, more talents for each classes. Scoundrel getting the ninja tricks, more arcana for magus etc...
The kinetecist is an unique class, but it really lack options in my opinion. Miss 1 core element (and 2 extra). It have more wild talent in Pnp and some extra infusions. It feel a bit rushed, could get more options. I'm afraid that any new class they could add to kingmaker would have less options than the core classes.
I hope they keep extending the options in their next game. (exemple: I would love the trait system for the MC, as an option to add some background to your character).
Also new content is pretty much done for at this point in time.
To be fair, your custom mercs are brought in from Absalom via teleportation.
I world of magic.....there is nothing cooler then using a mundane gun and blade.....think you have the wrong game..tried a Civil War game?
Too far away to have a supply of gun powder and bullets
All of my characters, which tend to be a Fire Godlike Priest of Magran/Soulblade , use the Sword and Pistol combo. Though If I can find a good enough Battle Axe I may switch.
Don't get me wrong, the Magus/Eldritch Scion is badass (in Magical settings I REFUSE to not have training in Magic and Martial ability), but I just find that Bayonets are such a underrated weapon that I grin in glee whenever I see one.
