Potions are for emergency or to save spells when you have to
Sadly healing wand are extremely rare, its a temporary option
Clerics can swap their spells to healing.
If you use Linzi, you can make her learn heal spells, Jubilost can learn heals too.
You can create also a druid DotTW to be an off healer (as the games doesn't provides druid companions)
With Tristian you can equip a belt of positive channeling and the feats that gives him more channels.
At level 11 the clerics will get Heal spell, the best healing. (110 to 150 HP healed)

Tip for the future ... 1 month after you get your Town. 2 companions become available and can be miss if you do the main quest to fast
