A scroll of restoration will cure all of your ability damage, so buy that and use it, then you should be good to go
Not true, you heal 1 point for normal camp resting. (Or I did when playing today anyway, if you experienced different maybe it's a difficulty option?)
nvm I understand now thanks!
For the permanent kind you need tle lvl4 restoration spell or greater... I think?
hover over your stat on the character screen: it will have an entry saying Ability damage: -2 - or whatever the actual value is
permanent doesn't necessarily mean permanent in pathfinder, if that makes sense. Full restoration also restores negative levels on top of the other things.
lesser restoration also cures fatigue, which can be useful to get more out of low con characters, or barbarians who have come out of rage early game before you get other means to deal with it.
