Of course, I also use the Turn Based mod, because dealing with D20 mechanics faithfully implemented in real time vs a computer basically means you have to resort to utter cheese just because the computer can sync actions faster than a human can.
This!
This is why you have the pause button. I like real time with pause because it allows you to play so much with clever movement. So it's good that we have both options.
- dump str, high dex fighter is viable. You need a few feats that make you (relatively) terrible for the first 2 or 3 levels, but once you can do hit & damage off dex, you are golden. You can't do as well with big 2h weapons is the drawback, so if you love those (do 2h fighter flavored and take some dips). Think about what weapon you want to use, and what you want from the character.
For a starting player, I would suggest going Dex based Paladin, just dip one level into Scaled Fist Monk. Grab yourself Use Magic Device and grab a Wand of Mage Armor from Bokken at the Trading Post asap. You have super high AC, super high saves, full BAB, D10 HP, can smite hoes and later get access to great spell buffs.
