Is InEffect banned forever? If so I will miss talking strategy and mechanics with him. I didnt even know perma bans were a thing.

VoD Jul 2, 2019 @ 10:49pm
Probably posted another kineticist build with enduring earth even tho nothing survives the normal duration. This deserves banned imo.

LOL

Yeah, I'd miss him too. Was one of the more... colorful posters here.
But also knowledgeable - and very willing to help people with tailor-made builds.

He was banned for breaking the forum rules on multiple occasions.

Hardly a codemnation...
The guy liked to use colorful language but remained civil

Such a shame. The guy was always helpfull and ready to explain his standpoint.

Maybe its a temporary ban. Like he was grounded or something.

The RPG Codex.... where video games meet overgrown feckless bogans and posh monocled gentleman in a never ending spin of uncensored no-holds barred debate. VoD, InEffect wasn't a member of the RPG Codex -- if he *were* then he would have never have gotten banned in the first place!

No politics discussions/comments should be on this forum whatsoever. They will lead to flame wars (it already happened on multiple occasions).

Dead forum imho. Banning the most active, engaged, and helpful member is always a death spiral even if they can be "toxic". Seen it happen to my favorite 40k forums and the old wotc MTG and D&D forums.

The risk of flames is worth quality content. Especially since the complaining members are usually the type that don't know as much and give bad advise.

This essentially... With all due respect to Mortheim, but when something gets out of hand you close a thread and end the discussion there, rather than banning active members.

Flame is inevitable when it comes to sharing opinions, some will feel attacked with disagreement others will simply refuse to consider an opposite view.
Its the Moderators duty to terminate things when they get out of end or start to devolve into personal attacks, but banning someone for being too vocal does seem an exageration

There is no problem with sharing an opinion about the game. Politics is another matter. Interesting thread with feedback, the discussion is live, someone decides to share their opinion related to politics - bam! Thread is derailed, people are flaming, the discussion is ruined. Repeat after a week or two.
