Varnhold DLC and main campaign

Man, so glad I kickstarted this game, I'm so impressed that I went all in and got the Season Pass. However I'm not sure what order the DLC should be experienced in, should I play through the main campaign first before loading Varn Hold and the other DLCs?

I hear its best played in the middle of the campaign. I would start with the base game and all DLC enabled.

You should play it before diving into the 3rd Chapter. There is a quest you will see that eventually deals with Varnhold. When you see that, stop there and jump over to the DLC.

What about the other DLC? I see the cave but I recall seeing posts about a final boss harder than the main games boss. I do want to go in there though

Best to start Wildcards as soon as you get access to it. If you start a new game with Wildcards active it even adds the dlc character to tutorial and changes initial post barony dialogue (since you already met them). Also after starting barony and doing Wildcards quest asap, you can get access to Bladed Plate right away from their house . I used the initial day or two of my barony to loop north to DLC's Sorrowflow location, then to Varnhold to the east for Ira amulet, then exited to Silverstep region instantly after getting Amulet, then did Lake Silverstep then back to Capital doing most areas along the way.

The Beneath the Stolen Lands content is gated by chapter. I guess if you're really good you could use it to get some extra exp early before Troll Trouble gets started after using initial time to get Wildcard companions.

The only one I did so far was the kineticist mission. I might go and check out the stolen lands dungeon right before I go talk to tartuccio and the trolls. Im on unfair though so IDK lol

Yeah I would try it. Might be able to pick up a +2 AC helm or two with secondary enchantments from the first couple of levels in there.
