Best Gnome Classes?
Hi guys just started a Halfling Ranger and am enjoying her immensely but i'm considering playing a Gnome and Dwarf on my next play through's.

I just wondered what a good viable class is for gnomes, i'm considering Barbarian but i think the loss in strength might be an issue? What about Druid or mage types?

Gnome Monk viable?

Only class that makes at least some sense for gnome is arcane sorc illusionist.

I see so Gnome Barbarian is a no go. What a shame..

I mean you can do that. If you play on challenging or whatever it won't matter. Things don't have to make sense there.

Gnome feyspeaker druid is also good because they get some illusion spells and use charisma

feyspeaker doesn't get enough DC and illusion selection is not the greatest iirc.

phantasmal web and mirror image are nice spells to have for a druid. Feyspeaker now also has medium BAB in the last patch. Shadow evocation also have its uses,

The whole point of illusionist is to stack DC's and murder most things with 1 weird. idk how feyspeaker ties into that. Although, yeah, I guess something is better than nothing.

A feyspeaker can cast phantasmal web, creeping doom and elemental swarm and murder most things, It takes a little bit longer but it is very effective. The extra 1 DC with gnome magic is nice,

Moment you get illusion spells with Feyspeaker you already have higher level druid spells and those illusions become obsolete. Extremely mediocre class.

I mean it's still a druid, capable of doing druid degenerate things like kiting enemies in circles with a pet around ground spells

Shapeshifting with mirror image and greater invisibilty (another amazing illusion spell) will never become obsolete.

It already is because you get Shapeshifting a lot later than standard druid. And lategame enemies don't care for your Concealment.

I think I did better in combat with Thundering Claw (since my pet was a bear) than in forms later in game.

I admit gnome girl with green hair is very lore friendly to original PnP module tho.

So Gnomes are only good at magic? that seems a little one sided, no Gnome Clerics or Rogues?
InEffect Jun 9, 2019 @ 2:27am
Clerics are casters too.
And again, you can do anything so long as you don't take your scuffed builds into unfair.
