>Are they a high-tier class, or more a niche mid-tier?
I think they are pretty good. Deliverer is my favorite. Try the class out, and experiment. They're not that bad at all.
Slayers also get combat style feats like rangers do.
I'd say they are basically a mix between ranger and rogue, getting most of the good stuff both classes offer (except animal companion of course).
As with most classes there are surely multiclass builds around that do better but im pretty happy with my strenght-based shield bashing slayer right now...
Its also a matter of level scaling, while you CAN make a fighter with a dip in ranger for that +2 against certain enemies, the Slayer can not only apply that damage to ANY enemy it will keep progressing up to +5 and 6d6 of sneak attack while you are still stuck at +2 against enemy type X plus fighter level - 1 features.
Fighter is better in melee with the new free Feats from last DLC, Slayer at range. Slayer also gets Trapfinding (via Slayer Talent), Combat Style (unlike Ranger they're optional, so you can pick and choose - good way to get Shatter without having to bother with Display or Focus).
Which DLC? I'm poor, so I only own Tiefling Waifu DLC.
Should be included with EE.
Good to know Varnhold and Rogue Like aren't locking me out of feats then. :')
I smell a slap comin'.
"By popular demand, here's a full list of new class features that the "Varnhold's Lot" DLC adds to the game! We're sorry we didn't tell you of this content earlier or more clearly - we've completely forgotten to mention this in the DLCs description. We've updated the info on Steam and elsewhere, and we'll try to do better in the future."
I HAVE THE POWER OF POWER-PLAYER ON MY SIDE!
But that's... a bit annoying since I wouldn't even touch the Varnhold story.
Because Kanerah and Rogue-Like are more appealing.
That tail...
