I gathered that recommended 500k (520k to be more precise) before going on the tournament but turns out that for the good stuff, I would need much more money - ring is 370k but there is also Belt of Physical Perfection for 200k, similar Headband, belt for empowering lvl 1-3 spells, cloak for good and evil characters... Overall turns out I would need closer to 970k.

Did the values changed in some patch or anything? Prices seems much higher than what people reported before.

But i have play the game many times and i'm kinda expert with artisans + kingdom management. Not everyone can gather that much money easily without using cheats...

The ring (and possibly the belt that maximize? + empowers? all 1 to 4 level spells) is all you really want. Everything else you can get better versions of later on np.

Just get the ring really.

You'll get the equivalent or better of everything but the Ring and Absolver's Cloak (and you usually only need one of those) within the next level. You only need to buy at Rushlight things that you want multiple copies of, since you can get everything for sale at Rushlight from the Pitax vendors after dealing with Irovetti.
