Vivisectionist
Is the whole point of vivisectionist to be purchasing bombs all playthrough? I can see my bombs are doing very nice damage but its a lot to keep replacing them on the item screen

The whole point of a vivisectionist is to be an alchemist with Sneak Attack instead of bombs.

Pick one of the other alchemist subclasses if you want to focus on bombs. Grenadier being the most focused on it. Their bombs are inherent abilites that don't use consumables.

All alchemists get bonuses with thrown consumables but its meant as a fun extra rather than the primary means of damage.

Oh I thought the point was the bombs go up in damage by adding sneak attack damage to them insteaad of base damage. They are kicking ass right now lol

Now that I think about it. Does the discovery that lets you use potions with your vivi level work with purchased bombs?

Normal Alchemist has bombs that deal damage equal to the Vivisectionist sneak dice. To put it simply...

Where a Vivisectionist deals Weapon+4d6 sneak dice damage with a thrown bomb or melee attack, a normal Alchemist or Grenadier will throw a bomb, that deals 4d6+Int damage to the target it hits plus a 4+Int in its splash to every enemy.

When fighting groups of enemies, Alchemist and Grenadier will deal more damage with bombs than Vivisectionist with his Sneak Attacks. Grenadier also gets the option to apply Alchemical Fire and Acid Flasks to his weapons for additional booping power with his attacks. Vivisectionist will have a more consistent damage throughout the day, as he does not use any resources to use his additional damage dice, just needs a flanked enemy.

Try Feral Mutagen Discovery at level 2 on a Str Vivi, drink Str Mutagen, buff with Enlarge and let it rrriiip (there are ways to use it on Dex Vivi, generally with Weapon Finesse and Agile Amulet of Fists, but it's a little more complicated / a bit less effective and you don't get one of them till level 4 or so).

Was thinking about trying this but how do you make it effective late game? since natural attacks seem to fall off alot

Well, I might have a possible solution:

I have made so many Vivisector19/Fighter1 and just went nuts in Full Plate with a reach weapon, Legendary Size, and Grand Mutagen.
