Can you opt out of Kingdom management?
Like can we ignore it completely and just play as adventurers or are we forced into this government simulator?

Because thats kinda not why i bought this game, if i wanted to play Civ IV i would have bought that game instead...

If you read the description of the game before you bought it you would have known that you're supposed to build and rule your own kingdom.

Even if there is some kingdom management, the game is very good, and the adventure part makes for more than 90% of the game (haven't finished yet). And you already bought it.

Mods are easy to install, and this one makes it easier.

The big selling point of the Game is that you are ruling a Barony/Kingdom and that is clearly stated in the description on the store. It is actually rather nice of the devs that they allowed for an automatic mode, so that players like you can play the game like you want. But it is a core gameplay feature and big difference to other (C)RPGs.

So this is clearly on you, the devs did made a mode for you and modders made it *even* easier.

There's no need to mod the game.
Automatic mode might make choices you disagree with, but there's an 'immortal kingdom' setting for difficulty that makes it so it can't actually kill the kingdom through mismanagement (although you can still lose the game from failing to get certain quests done).

At that point you will have very little reason to open the kingdom interface.

Setting all of that aside: I'm really puzzled that you don't appear to have made any attempt to read any of the store page, where it repeatedly states "build your own kingdom".

Also calling it a 'government simulator' is a bit much, there's hardly anything there. In a very real way, they severely watered down the kingdom management from the tabletop campaign this is an adaptation of.

I was pretty bored with the kingdom aspect of it too. I didn't play for quite a while because of that and broken feat lines and missing items etc. They fixed the first part of the problem. Just get beneath the stolen lands dlc. No kingdom management just an infinite dungeon. The second part still needs quite a bit of work.

Even if it watered down, the Kingdom Part is my favorite part of the game. Not that I dislike the rest, but that is "just" your normal wonderful RPG Gameplay. But something like the Kingdom part is so rare that I just love everything about it.

I agree, I just wish they'd had the time and resources to do more with it. In particular the kingdom building isn't quite as integrated with the rest of the game and the world as I'd prefer.
