Saving Kesten and Jhod. Enchanted Edition
From the Patch notes.
It used to be possible to save both Kesten Garess and Jhod Kavken in Chapter 3 by coming to Lamashtu's Womb, talking to Kesten, and then going to the capital to save Jhod. This was a bug. Resolution: fixed. You can still save them both if you pick a special neutral option in the final dialogue in Goblin King Fort.

...ok. Has anyone figured out how this shall work? i have no *special neutral* option found yet to save both of them.

You need to be Lawful if I remember it right. Unique option for them.
Askavi Jun 13, 2019 @ 10:59am
Yeah i already know that. But the Patch notes clearly says NEUTRAL OPTION. Guess it is a missinformation.
Balekai Jun 13, 2019 @ 11:09am
Correct it's a Lawful option and it's still the same (no alignment requirement change to neutral or to nothing at all in EE). People will need to be Lawful now to get both Jhod and Kesten.

Edit: A new legit work around would be to respec your character in tavern to a lawful one then back if need be.

I demand a f*!%ing Chaotic Evil choice to execute this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Kesten for disobey my order to move to the capital. If someone kills my Advisor. I will do it.

Wouldn't say it is even chaotic or evil to punish vassals for disobeying orders, unless an order breaks feudal obligations.

Yeah the EE edition basically screws you over completely unless you are lawful, just reached that point and tried to save both and couldn't.

Alignment game play is completely ♥♥♥♥♥♥ in this game. Choices not available unless you are a certain alignment, while gating alignment choices in next part of the story that would only be available if you are of a different alignment and that you couldn't get anyway unless you weren't of that dialogue.

Seriously how dumb is this:

-Staying neutral between mites and kobolds (choice only available to neutral)

next portion of dialogue:

- Have kobolds and mites make peace (lawful good choice)

Does owlcat not see the problem here? Why hasn't this been fixed yet.

It doesn't need to be fixed, one is taking a stance on event another is changing how things play out and is not locked to alignment. It adds weight to your choice of alignment and replayability.

It is the only option, simply give him a lawfull answer and you send Kresten back to capital, otherwise he died in Whomp of Lamashtu.

No it doesn't, it really doesn't. A lawful character should still have the option to stay neutral, deciding not to take a side until he has properly investigated and found the real culprit to then make a decision, just like any police investigator should.

Once he knows the truth, he punishes the guilty according to the proper lawful course of action.

That is a lawful course of action and a sensible one that should be available while allowing not to side with the kobolds or mites until you have the truth

Lawful choice in this situation, as Valerie's advise shows, is to clean your future land from all vermin, before they became an issue for your roads and villages.

Taking the side between 2 evil groups of monsters is the definition of a TN choice, it's by the book Druid way of doing things since AD&D. It's the unique option for TN characters, you want it - replay as TN.

Dumbest thing i've ever witnessed to be ever patched. Unless you are playing on a difficulty that is too low for your party, you already are going to have troubles to do both.

This makes me beyond angry. So what, story forces me to lose an advisor because i didn't have the right alignment? And what's left to do? Exactly, screw up my actual alignment progress, respec my character into lawful, then respec him back into Neutral Good with a mod.

Where is my Neutral choice to tell him to stay put? Where is my Chaotic choice to tell him to go bath in the sun while i fix the mess?

Thanks a lot, devs. Stellar gamedesign. Gonna have to mod again to get out of that sh*tshow

You seem upset. Won't recommend you playing Final Fantasy 7, where story forces you to lose companion without any alignment at all. Or Mass Effect.

Or any game with a story except Princess Maker. Although that one has even harsher penalties for things not going your way, so nvm.

I thought if you did both events fast enough, you could save both, regardless of alignment or dialogue choices. Been awhile since I played that portion, first play through was CN

Man people complain so much about games where alignment is meaningless. Here we have a game where it matters and people complain about that. I like the system it gives you rewards/consequences based off alignment, and like people say you can respec/mod though it if it's that bad. Plus losing eihter advisor isn't that bad since there's enough other people to fill the spot unlike a certain other choice of losing someone.....
