Does Dispel Magic not Work?

It never dispels anything. Whether I Target or use Area.

Someone got Icy Prisoned? He will take damage for 20 minutes because Dispel Magic (Greater or normal, Targeted or Area) won't cure it.

Someone fell in a Pit? They'll die because the pit lasts 20 minutes and you can't climb out no matter what your Athletics score is, can't do any actions, can't even heal yourself, and of course can't Dispel the pit.

Is anyone else having this problem?

You need to cast it with someone with a high caster level to have 'chance' to dispel it.

He's level 18, how much higher do I need to be?

In general you need to roll a 11+ to dispel anything you cast... its a save scumming spell.

I dispelled a pit today.

Dispel Magic, greater is a better spell or dispelling strike from rogue that gets six rolls a turn.
