Best familiar for a sorcerer?
I am a little stuck about my choice of a familiar. Frankly, I see three decent ones, either the hare for its +4 initiative, which I assume is quite good in combat; the viper for itst +3 persuasion, which helps in conversations I guess; the lizard for its +1 AC, although I guess it would quickly become pointless as I level up.

What do you think?

the object one is best. You get a free cast, and you can swap spells before you use thee free cast meaning you can change 1 spell on the fly per day without resting

Not for a sorcerer? Its really good for mage and cleric but kinda useless for sorcerer.

The hare is normally the best overall.

Edit: the sorcerer object is bug atm ... don't take it

Hare is the best since initiative is key to victory

I go with the item whenever I can (Sage Sorcerer) because you get an extra casting of your highest spell level. I keep seeing these bug reports on Arcane Bond Item for sorc, but I have never seen it, and Sage Sorc is standard for my Beneath the Stolen Lands runs.

My bad, the bug object is from the 'arcane bloodline'. If you say the sage sorcerer object is fine then it must be.

Initiative is so underrated. It’s the real reason why Sword Saint is so good. Otherwise you’d really be missing that uncanny dodge.

When in doubt improved initiative is always a good go to feat.

In the P&P game, I'd agree with you, but I've never found it to be fantastically useful in this CRPG.

If you pay attention to flat-footedness and the huge difference it makes you’ll see. Then play a Sword Saint with Aldori Dueling Mastery and Improved Initiative and pay attention to how often you’re flat footed.

Initiative is a must have for main tanks

Don't a lot of the heavy armor tanks have really good flat-footed AC though? I mean, I definitely agree that initiative is important on something like a Monk, but TSS loses only like 2-3 AC when flat-footed (not sure about later, I don't tend to run TSS past like level 8-9).

Great point. Still good to get in the first blow, especially if that blow has a debuff/trip attached.

Personally I like a persuasion boosting one.

Is this still not fixed ? It does work on Wizards and Clerics...

What do you think?

Take Arcane bond. You can even, after a level-up "unlock"a new spell when you would normally have to rest to use your new spell and spell slot.
