Pummeling Style Working Properly
Someone was concerned that Pummeling Style for monks was not bypassing damage reduction. You can see here it is.

It was me.

Actually still puzzled: per description it said that you should put the dmg of all your attack toghter and apply damage resistance of the enemy to the total only once.

What you are showing is that 2 of the 3 attacks get's damage reduced, only the third is doing full dmg. Wich is something good i guess, but not " how it should work as per description".

Are you sure that you are not using shattering punch or some other monk unarmed special attack?

Hmm interesting, I was wondering how it was implemented since it's supposed to add all the damage up from the round and apply the DR only once. It looks like it just has the damage reduce the DR, so on the first hit, the DR stopped the entire amount, on the second hit you did 2 damage so it stopped some of it (since you have +2 to damage alone from strength, min would have been 3), and then the third hit looks like it was 7 damage (And doesn't say reduced at all).

Wonder how that works with the bility to bypass DR all together (forgot it's name, one of the options as a monk), The one that doubles the damage on the first hit may be better at that point as it gets rid of the DR all together (and perhaps the one that ignores DR...just bypasses it but doesn't reduce it, so you still lose as much damage over all the attacks.

The +1 attack by spending a ki point certainly makes more sense as well (in combo with the double damage on the first hit) at that point since the more attacks you get, the more of them ignore the DR all together.

Depending on the strength of the char I think Pummeling might be the most offensive over all, since it can knock enemies down (automatically), setting them up for sneak attack damage + give Aoo's (for knocking em down, them getting up, knocking em down again lolz). Curious if you have multiple monks next to each other if they give Aoo's to each other when they knock down enemies as well.

Love the charge though, full attacks after a charge + auto trip = win. I still have not gotten to try crane form (Tried dragon first).

There was no reduction on second hit. That’s why I highlighted it to show 2 of 3. Flurry + ki extra attack = 3 attacks.

The way it is implemented is that it bypasses DR on all hits but the first.

There may have been an initial hit from the charge showing up in the log but the 2 of 3 is what matters.

Ahh, wow that is even better tbh. Better then the desc I mean. Especially if you have the double damage thing going (not to mention if your using dragon form for 2x strength as well on the first hit).

But wait..what about the one that bypasses DR all together on the first hit, in combo with pummeling does that mean you ignore DR all together at that point?

You can only use one style at a time. Crane, Dragon, or Pummeling. I use Crane for splashes and Pummeling for offense.

I would never use Dragon.

I only used dragon once....once (jhonny dangerously quote hehe).

I will try crane sometime, never had more then one at a time though.

Tripping enemies does not set them up for sneak attack damage. Need flanking, flat-footed or immobilized for that.

Obviously everyone in threat range benefits from Attacks of Opportunity triggered by Greater Trip / Getting up from Prone.
