Improved Unarmed Feat Question
I'm playing a tiefling kinecist. And as I have both hands free I thought it would be fun to make a makeshift brawler as well. So I need to get my hands of a Amulet of Agile Fists. I have an amulet of might fists +1. But unarmed attacks provotes aoo. So I thought that at 8th level (I think that is the next level I get feats? Can't rememeber, a lot of 5e currently) I would take the Improved Unarmed Feat. Which makes the unarmed damage a bit better, by like one point (terrible feat tbh), and it says that my unarmed attacks count as if I'm armed. Does this mean, that I do not provoke aoo when using unarmed. Because whenever people get close to me, and I use my blast, that provokes an attack. So this would be an interesting way of dealing with that I thought. But feats are so rare (at least it feels like it) and I don't want to waste a feat.

So in short:
Does the Improved Unarmed feat remove the aoo when attacking unarmed?

It does, but not sure if that will help with the blasts (I don't have the expansion so can't check).

There might be a spell that does it as well...stone fist or something like that. I believe it makes you do 1d6 unarmed damage and not get aops as well, it's a level 1 spell I believe...but it may be self only (which won't help with a kinecist).

You could also use your blade like Kalilkke or just take a Monk splash which gives you improved unarmed for free and another bonus feat.

Point Blank Master also turns off AoOs from ranged attacks. Requires Fighter 4 or Combat Style feat lvl 6.

Stone Fist lvl one arcane spell gives you improved unarmed, yes, turning off AoOs. Pretty sure Jub can put it on you. Nearly always better to have a backup weapon set equipped though and just switch to that.

Well I'm chaotic good so i can't be a monk. I don't use ranged attacks as they require two hands. And 4 levels is pretty far away. And then I would have to give up my kinetist abilities and I don't get anything out of fighter other than a few extra feats.
I was hoping it would be doable without multi classing. But thanks for the help. ^^

It doesn't need to help the blasts. Just thought it would be a fun way to keep my kinetist and Kaelssi or kaihilkial, whatever the tieflings name is different from my own. But you did answer my question so thank you! Guess I'll have to try out a monk/kinetist soon. :p

You’re playing a kineticist without using kinetic attacks?

Your blast is a ranged attack. If you want to use your blast in melee use kinetic blade.

It was merely a way, to challenge myself to make a build that would normally not be all that powerful. It would be easy, but I decided kinetic blade wasn't how I wanted to build my character.

The whole class is built around blasts and blades and infusing them. I think you’ll just end up bored.

If you want a non-monk fist fighter I’ve heard people trying Barb. Crusader of Irori with Shield Bash could be fun.
