"A Simple Favor" - Bugged ??? (SOLUTIONS FOUND HERE)
I have undertaken Irene's Quest to find Ollie. I have visited his wife and received her information about southern border cleft. I could not find it. I researched here only to discover I have been past the area; however, I retraced my steps from River Guard's Camp (Castle Tower) to Iron Stone Gully without luck. I assume that the map marker should trigger regardless of my perception. Perception is only necessary when you're on the local map to discover a hidden treasure cache?

I am of good alignment and have not encounter a unicorn or been asked to retrieve it yet, which I assume does not occur until I recover Ollie's items and return them to Irene.

I have generally not had issues with bugs but the location just does not trigger... is there some other thing I might have missed that is required for the location to trigger?

ADDENDUM (AFTER ANSWERED):

WOW! I never knew that Perception mattered for detecting World Map Locations (I mean it makes sense that does, but I just never thought about it)....

SOLUTION FOR ME: Although I had party members with solid perceptions (+15, +16, +16, +17) and we are all 11th level, I went back and got Jaethal (Perception +25) and attached her to the same party and BINGO - As soon as I reached the node where you turn to go to Iron Stone Glutch, it popped-up no problem!

It was just so weird to me because I had fairly solid perceptions and had even gone back prior to acquiring the Quest, picked-up the Quest, and re-ran the location without luck... figuring I'd get clean perception checks in case I rolled really bad the last time.

Lol - I had even come prepared to make Chocolate Ice Cream meals for +3 on Skill Checks, but Jaethal alone did it... ah well - thanks everyone.

EXPERIMENTING SOLUTION:

I went back with the original party and slept just the other side of the bridge with Meal of Chocolate Ice Cream (+3 on Skill Checks, w/Lindsey getting +5 as favorite meal is Choc Ice Crm, which bumped party to (Perceptions: +10, +5, +18, +19, +22, +19). So, that worked also, probably +19s or +22,... just wanted to see if you need Perception +25 to do it.
-------------------------------------------------
Anyway, I hope that helps others struggling with this quest. Cheers.

Here is the location you will find Ollie level up and try again or change party member.

As for the unicorn horn, you find hit later in a main story location after a certain undead boss is dead.

Yeah I was surprised to miss it recently too. Good quest to bring your Perception specialists along for. Having two cuts way down on bad luck. It’s way out of the way so worth it.

And yes, perception is also use on the world map and its really important to have 1 character that specialize in it and other(s) that are good in it.
