So, what that is suppose to mean?
I though that you would implement mouse controls, no matter the difficult.
we think that mouse only controls complete broke the gameplay, too easy. so we put them as the easiest difficulty.
Some people might find keyboard easy, others controllers. It's a matter of preference.
And call it "brain dead", I though unnecessary offensive.
Done.
I like the new loading screen after beating a level. :3 And the pictures for the new modes. And I set a new high score for Tomoko on Gentleman Robin mode so it's pretty funs.
Will say it does keep giving the warnings for Mouse/Gentleman mode every time I go to select them after a stage has been done. That's a super minor thingy though.
Look, you can play platform games, beat'em up, fighting games, or any other that requires to push a lot of buttons with keyboard and mouse. But would be much better using controllers, right?
How about FPSs? You can have more precision with mouse. Yet, some people prefer to play with controllers.
I can drive cars with keyboard as good as using controllers. But I know that still have the advantages with handling. Especially with motorcycles.
Some people prefer joysticks for flight simulators. Other racing wheels for driving.
Each of these options can be considering making the game easier. Each one with their own preferences.
I was one that requested the mouse for movement controls, because I though would be much more fun to play. I didn't liked the label that follow it. I'm not stupid, and I prefer normal (default) difficulty.
If the high precision mouse control made it too easy... how about a mouse only, high speed, 1 life yolo mode then? ;)
Also, have you considdered just making these modifiers instead of difficulty settings? Like, let the player set all those cool things and up the challenge on their own.
So you could set stuff like
Lives 1-8
Gentleman's mode on/off
One hand mode on/off
Speed high/normal
special bar 1 full/empty
enable mouse yes/no
etc
We are always listening to the suggestions.
Right now we are not doing that because this will create so many windows between you and the stage, so we need to find ways to not make so many window choices first.
But it isn't normal, that's the point. ¬_¬ This game's only hard to people too lazy to retry a level more than once. Mouse controls are a nice optional thing to have in, but you have to realise it utterly trivialises the difficulty. I'm no professional by any means, but I blitzed three of the harder levels earlier without a single death on mouse mode.
Well, that's not really the point. The point is that him jokingly calling it Brain Dead mode in patch notes in this one topic isn't "unnecessarily offensive". If anything, it's hilariously accurate. So I'm going to poke fun at how thin-skinned you are that you even had to complain about it. :3
Edit: Just tested it again on Misako, 5 stars, 0 lives lost. May as well rename it "Cheat Engine mode" xP
So don't use the mouse. Continue to play as you like, loosing lives and not feeling a trivial difficulty.
And if you that kind of people that takes offenses as jokes, good for you, but cut this bs with me. I'm not thin-skinned, I'm just not numb.
And lets not exagerated here. Just because I'm continue to talk about the use of the words "brain dead", that doesn't mean that I'm all enraged, breaking things, cursing the skyes, and hating the devs. Let be clear here, since you like to assume people of being lazy and not trying to become better at certain levels, just because they mention how they find it hard. I was dispointed by the limitation of the controls, and yes, the unnecessary labeling (because is a funny joke, when is not on you).
And normal is what is inside your confortable zone and life experiences.
If this game was running on an arcade machine for example, the controls would be a joystick with a big ball to hold with. The mouse play in a very similar way, so would probably make it "easy". Oh, but is normal, right? Heck I can even try to use the analog stick of my controller the same way, if was not for its small size.
I'm current playing an mobile shmup, what is controller by your finger. It is challenging, I loose, I keep trying till succeed. Guess I'm not "lazy", uh?
I'm shooting for five-star Gentleman for every level!
