When you first start the first thing you should do is go into the garage and open the junk pile while pressing space bar, after doing this 1 time Cody will learn to open junk piles on his own. From there on out Cody should be opening every junk pile, both for the skill points and to unlock new abilities. Once you get a crowbar/lockpicks make sure you press space bar when doing it, after 3 he will be able to do it himself, after he can do it himself make him do it every time, after he opens 6 you will be able to unlock his finding hidden loot ability, find hidden loot 6 times and you can get him to find hidden loot on zombies. Unlocking these skills in particular is very important early on.
Thank you so much. With your post and with me trying around I found the problem. The key to teach was for some reason not bound so whenever I told her to do something I just saw a white square with nothing in it and I didn't pay any mind to it cause I didn't know what that square meant. As soon as I put a key on it, it suddenly was clear to me :D
Thank you so much!
