How do I hunt animals?

I feel so stupid asking this because I know it's going to be something extremely simple my dumbass somehow missed. Do I have to set traps in areas with animals in them?

Nvm I figured it out myself, in case anyone else has this problem you need to shoot crows or have Cody do it if he has the skill available

Don't worry, it took me a while to figure out crows were something you could target with the lock on, let alone hunt them too, kept going exclusively for bunnies.
