Anyone actually liked Tsukasa Sagawa ? (heavy spoilers)
I ended up feeling sorry for him. I think he was mainly doing his "job" and ended up taking the fall for something that wasn't even his fault. He even tried to end things on a civil note with majima who basically told him to bugger off. I dunno. He wasnt as bad as the story led you to believe.

To me, he more or less embodied a typical Yakuza. He's bad dude, but then again, he's literally a professional criminal. And really, he was a pretty reasonable guy until Majima tried to pull a fast one on him.

So which is the real Sagawa, and which one was only appeasing his own leadership? Or maybe it's not that simple. Who knows.

In any case, he's definitely there to serve as a foil for Kiryu and Majima, who evidently just never got the memo that gangsters are supposed to be bad.

Sagawa is one of the best yakuza villains, the kuze to kiryu so to speak for majima. Hes the only thing keeping majima from being let out of his cage since the 18 man murder saejima did, sagawa respected majima more than the game lets us know, even showing more friendly tropes like calling him majima-chan and tiger - an arguable reference to his kyodai

He seemed like a jerk for the most part, until near the end, he did have some likability though.

I did like him, but that didn't make him any more redeemable. His whole creed was utter loyalty to the boss, yet that was repeatedly proven hollow when undermined on both fronts (by his Brother feeding him false orders that would've impacted everyone involved negatively if successful, and by his minion actively hiding the outcome of the one task he'd been delegated). At least he'd been around long enough to know when to go down with the ship instead of fighting back, since he was clearly aware he didn't have a future in the Omi after Shimano essentially disposed of him. (I still fanon that he fought back and fled the country to live out the rest of his days peacefully, lol.)

His only saving grace as a character is that he offered Majima an easy way out by forgetting about the Yakuza altogether, and that everything following that stems from Majima's own reckless mishandling of the situation.
