Playstation input buttons are inverted ONLY on yakuza 0
so as you may know, on a playstation controller pressing x works as a select button. But for some reason the square button is the select button and the x button now takes you back to the menu (which is what the circle button used to do) the triangle button does what it used to do. Does anyone know what to do? I did a steam input test everything worked out fine.

Cam't help, but yea it did this to me as well. Tried to figure it out and now my ps5 controller dc as soon as I start the game.

Ended up having to use a xbone x controller with a mod to replace the symbols in the game to ps symbols.

Anyway curious, myself

Hey man, I found the solution! Basically if you go into library then yakuza 0 you should be taken to this page where it says play on the top left, if you look to the right of that there is a small controller. If you click that you'll be able to click this button that says enable steam input. That will fix it (probably) worked for me.

Thanks for the head up, but when I do that as soon as I start the game it disconnects, it weird. Now this is for wireless.

Maybe I should try Tales of Arise, I did play that with my ps5 controller no prob when that came out.

Well tried Tales of Arise and doesn't work there now either. Might be something on my end then.

Works wired, but so did Yakuza 0.

Yo thank you bro this is the only thing that actually worked

I have a ps5 controller and suddenly I was having the same issues with x and circle. I tried several things but still nothing, turns out enabling steam input just fixed it that easily

Sounds like you're using a Dualsense with raw input, there's different mapping (new sensors in this controller) so you'll have this experience for any game with Dualshock support but no Dualsense support. For some reason, the best fix is toggling the Steam Input (to Off then back to On) so the game somehow detects its input the way it would for Dualshock controllers.

I managed to fix this issue with my PS2 controller (Spoofed as a PS3 controller) by going to steam input and re-configuring it after setting steam to handle Playstation input. Once I went through the re-configuration it worked just fine. Now if only it would let me force PS button icons.

I think that's the issue here, setting Steam to translate PS input to XInput is exactly why we lose the Sony prompts. Regardless, I'm pretty sure that PS2 (and for any game released after 2015, PS3) controllers don't have native support on PC, speaking broadly.
