switch character button?

On SNES you could press (hold?) 'select' to switch characters, but that doesn't seem to work anymore. I can use the keyboard key to switch but my gamepad doesn't seem to have any button for it. I'm using a generic third-party gamepad with the normal steam gamepad interface. Any ideas?

I just used the directional pad to change characters.

Open your menu, go to the Gear for "Options", and then go down to "Game Commands".

It will tell you what button switches characters.

Only thing, for some odd reason, Left and RIght are swapped. For example, if Randi is in the middle, Primm is on the left, and Popoi is on the Right, I hit Right to switch to Popoi......no, for some reason, hitting right switches to Primm.

Not sure why that is.
