So I dunno...I'd still say it's not Ansel specific, unless something about Ansel is bleeding (so to speak) into the game and into Prompto's photos ... the opposite

Ok did the script to prove my point:

The images are only 20ms appart because if I put the keystroke faster the game wouldn't register and wouldn't bring the Ansel GUI.

Clearly not a timing issue :)

Some stuff you say does make sense, maybe it's not the Ansel itself, but the way FFXV treats the particles while paused.

However, I will try to create an Autohotkey script to take the screenshot of
the same moment with and without ansel to prove my point :)

Oh also, I was using Ignis with Lightning daggers and the lightning shows up ok - but if you turn the Ansel camera sometimes they seem to disappear because they are drawn almost singular-plane - they
give the illusion of depth when going off in a second or two in motion but are really flat effects which flicker/disappear at angle while in Ansel, if that makes sense.

on:

---One, eye/hand reaction time to hit the Ansel activation vs. when you see the warp strike could sometimes not be fast enough (there really is only a couple seconds) and thus one keeps on ending
up with Ansel at a time with only the white trail
---Two, it and Prompto both remove some post-processing at a point a bit sooner than it should/what the eye may thinks it sees and no one is fast
