I am actually quite happy about FFXV having less "sexy" stuff in the game, Cidney/Cindy the mechanic is an exception of course.
Compared to FF13 for example, which is very silly and yet played with a very serious tone the entire way through. The seriousness almost makes it more silly when things don't quite pay off.
One of the reasons I like some Japanese media (Not so much FF in this case,) is that they have an interesting blend of seriousness wrapped up in lighthearted self-awareness and over-the-top fun. Some of my favorite examples being Akira Kurosawa movies (Yojimbo, Sanjuro) and Sega's Yakuza/Like a Dragon video games.
Yeah i know, FF series is full of odd stuff, thats a reason why i bothered to play it.
I dislike JPRGs, they are imho pretty lame RPG subgenre, but I appreciate games with obscure mechanics or at least bizarre settings / world, so why dont play that sometimes.
But FF15 is new level of oddity for me, so far im enjoying that.
Yeah me too. I actually hate JRPGs because of the quirky characters and the flashy style. But FFXV is serious enough for me and managed to drag me into the Final Fantasy series.
I both hate and love this comment
