Turf Effects Causing Flicker?
Hi everybody, I am not really sure why this is happening, but I have a 4090, 7950x3d, 64gb DDR5 RAM, and used to be able to run this game at with everything enabled, max settings at 4K.

Lately though, after a GPU update from around half a year ago, having Turf Effects enabled causes terrain, grass, and vegetation to flicker for an instance. It happens often, randomly, and I do not really know what is causing it. Any idea on what could be causing this? I have other games that benefit from the latest GPU updates, so rolling back to the driver that was working is not the best solution. Everything is updated from CPU, MoBo, OS, etc.

Any help is appreciated, thanks!

I had this problem and found that if I changed to 60fps it went away.

The flickering issue isn't limited to just FFXV unfortunately. Several games that I play with foliage, volumetric clouds, and other lighting/particle effects have suffered the same issue. From my experience, it started 2 updates ago with Nvidia cards and has persisted with the latest one. I miss the days when Nvidia released bulletproof drivers even if they did take longer to release. Nowadays, Radeon drops the bulletproof drivers and Nvidia dumps out bug ridden garbage as fast as they can with no QA.

To be fair, Radeon had there fair share of issues to , not to long ago you couldn't play old games such as Fallout New Vegas, but however they did fix it.

rtx 4070, same issue.
I thought my gpu was going bad, but it seems to be the turf effects are just bugged out on newer gpu's.

Nvidia's 546.65 driver seems to be the last driver without this problem, so you could try downgrading to that driver.

Newest nVidia driver that came out today says it fixes the flickering issue when turf effects are enabled in this game.
I'm surprised they fixed it given how old the game is.

Me too but this issue was caused a driver update not too long ago so its not like they are fixing a years old bug

I meant that I just didn't expect to them to fix it because the game was older, not that the issue was as old as the game.
